Folk Art Sock Monkey
Sock Monkeys hearken back to the Victorian era, when the craze for imitation stuffed animals swept from Europe into North America and collided with the Arts and Crafts Movement. Mothers took to sewing stuffed animals as toys to comfort their children. With the then current growing fascination with exotic species, monkey toys soon became a fixture of American nurseries. In our fast-paced world of e-communication, even the most elaborate flash animated e-cards can't create the wonderful feeling of receiving a hand-illustrated gift on a card you can hold. Add an original poem written especially for the recipient, and you have a gift capable of touching a heart in a way few other gifts can.Give a whimsical hand-illustrated card with an original poem to an expecting mommy to accompany a baby shower gift, or to be the baby shower gift...or just to make her smile about what's ahead for her. I can write the mother's name or the child's name on the front of the card as well as incorporate it into the poem. "Christy" is the sample name I use on the website cards to show you how it could look with your friend's name or her baby's name. You may opt to have the name left off.TO CUSTOMIZE THIS CARD: go to CONTACT at the bottom of any page to type in your specifics in the comments box, then return to the product page to order.Original illustrations won't have the watermark on them.
